Week three : Formosa Water Park explosion (八仙塵暴)
More than 500 people were injured when fire ripped through crowds at a party at an amusement park outside Taiwan's capital Taipei.
The incident on June 27,2015 at the Formosa Water Park is believed to have happened when a colored powder ignited after being discharged onto the crowd.
Footage showed people panicking and screaming. Inflatable water toys were shown being used as stretchers.
Some 190 people are seriously hurt - 182 are in intensive care.
Some of them breathed in the powder, causing respiratory problems.
The fire department said: "Our initial understanding is that explosion and fire... was caused by the powder spray. It could have been due to the heat of the lights on the stage".
Local media said organizers of the Color Play Asia event had been taken in for questioning by prosecutors.

In my memory, it seems to be happening in New Taipei City, not capital Taipei. Through this blast, we learned that many people in Taiwan are sympathetic and we also learn what countries are friendly to Taiwan.
回覆刪除To tell the truth, if they don't go the place like that, it will never happen. When you are going to a place which is crowed, it's very important to know where to leave if any accident happen. If they think about it, they won't have so many complain now.
回覆刪除After the accident happened, there are many people call for the society to give those people who injured seriously a hand, and some may blame on you and criticize you having no sympathy just because you do nothing for them. However, getting down to business, going to the color powder party is their own choice, and they should pay responsibility of their own decision；moreover, it was them to go and enjoy the party, not me. So they don't have the right to ask me to do things for them.
