So far Egypt has publicly said it has found no evidence that the MetroJet flight, which crashed in the Sinai Peninsula after takeoff from Sharm el-Sheikh airport, killing all 224 people on board, was brought down by terrorism.
A senior security official at the airline denied that any of its employees had been arrested or were under suspicion, and an Interior Ministry official also said there had been no arrests.
But the sources, who declined to be identified because of the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation, said the mechanic had been detained, along with two airport policemen and a baggage handler suspected of helping him put the bomb on board.
None of the four have been prosecuted so far, the sources told Reuters.
The crash has called into question Egypt's drive to eradicate Islamist militancy and hurt its tourism industry, a cornerstone of the economy. Islamic State's Egypt affiliate is waging an insurgency in parts of the Sinai, although mostly far from the tourist resorts along its Red Sea coast.
Russia and Western countries have long said that they believe the flight was brought down by a bomb smuggled on board. Egypt however has so far publicly said it has not found any evidence of foul play.

Week Six - Syria refugees, Death of Alan Kurdi (歐洲難民潮-敘利亞男孩死亡事件)
Alan Kurdi (Kurdish: Alan Kurdî), initially reported as Aylan Kurdi, was a three-year-old Syrian boy of Kurdish ethnic background whose image made global headlines after he drowned on 2 September 2015 in the Mediterranean Sea, as part of the Syrian refugee crisis. Photographs of his body were taken by Turkish journalist Nilüfer Demir and quickly spread around the world, prompting international responses. Because Kurdî's family had reportedly been trying to reach Canada, his death and the wider refugee crisis immediately became an issue in the 2015 Canadian federal election.
In the early hours of 2 September 2015, Kurdi and his family boarded a small plastic or rubber inflatable boat, which capsized about five minutes after leaving a beach at Bodrum in Turkey. Sixteen people were in the boat, which was designed for a maximum of eight people. They were trying to reach the Greek island of Kos, about 30 minutes (or 2.5 miles) from Bodrum. Kurdi's father said: "We had no life vests", but also said they were wearing life jackets, but they "were all fake". Others have stated that they believed that they were wearing lifejackets but the items were ineffective.
It was later stated on Syrian radio that the Kurdi family paid $5,860 for their four spaces on the boat, which had twelve passengers on it despite being only about five meters long. Alan Kurdi's mother joined in the trip even though she had a fear of being on the open sea. Tima Kurdi, Alan Kurdi's aunt, advised her sister not to go. The individuals on the boat evaded the Turkish coast guard by setting out from an isolated beach, going out late at night.
Around 5 a.m. authorities started an investigation, after an emergency call that a boat had capsized and bodies were coming ashore. The bodies of Kurdi and another child were discovered by two locals at around 6:30 a.m. on the same morning. The two men moved the bodies from the water onto the dry part of the beach. Later, Kurdi was photographed face-down on the water's edge by a Turkish press photographer.
On 3 September 2015, Kurdi along with brother Galib and mother Rehana were taken to Kobanî for burials, which took place the next day. It is Islamic tradition to bury the dead within 24 hours if possible.

Week Four - Warm starry nights, Blue Moon, Pluto, Earth 2.0 (太空新發現)
The planet, known as 452b, is also confidently called Earth 2.0. It was identified by researchers analyzing data received from the Kepler space telescope that was launched in 2009 to survey part of our Milky Way Galaxy for exoplanets. Orbiting 64 million miles above Earth, Kepler has discovered 1,030 planets to date. A dozen are orbiting within the “habitable zone” around other stars. Earth 2.0 is the best of these.
As described by Space.com in 2009, “The mission’s science instrument, called a photometer, contains the largest camera ever flown in space. Its 42 charge-coupled devices (CCDs) will detect slight dips in starlight, which occur when planets passing in front of their stars partially block the light from Kepler’s view.”
On July 30 and 31 the moon was below the Summer Triangle all night. In 2015, we enjoyed a full moon on the first day of July and experience an encore on the last day of the month. The encore was known as a Blue Moon, for the relative rarity of the occasion. Moonrise occured at 8:14 p.m. on the 31st.

Week Five : Global Shopping Festival of the Singles' Day in 2015 (光棍節-全球購物節)
Singles Day, which takes place on November 11, is a consumer holiday in China and the world's biggest online shopping day of the year.
More sales were made via mobile ($9.8 bn) during the day-long festival in 2015 than was spent over the entire Singles Day in 2014.
It took Chinese consumers just three minutes to spend 1 bn yuan (£100m) on Singles Day in 2014.
In 2015, in five minutes and 45 seconds, online shoppers in China had splashed out five times that amount, Alibaba said.
Chinese consumers spent a record 91.2 bn yuan ($14.3 bn, £9.4 bn) online during the 24 hours of Singles Day in 2015, cementing the e-commerce extravaganza as the biggest day for internet shopping on the global retail calendar.
The 60pc sales growth exceeded expectations, as market research firm IDC had predicted that Alibaba's sales during Singles Day 2015 would rise by 52 pc to 87 bn yuan.
2015 years’ Singles Day, which Alibaba markets as the 11.11 Global Shopping Festival, featured more than six million products from over 40,000 merchants, up from 27,000 vendors in 2014.
Smartphone maker Xiao-Mi, which last year became the first store on Alibaba's Tmall platform to achieve sales of more than 1bn yuan, prepared to sell more than two million smartphones during the 24-hour period.

Week three : Formosa Water Park explosion (八仙塵暴)
More than 500 people were injured when fire ripped through crowds at a party at an amusement park outside Taiwan's capital Taipei.
The incident on June 27,2015 at the Formosa Water Park is believed to have happened when a colored powder ignited after being discharged onto the crowd.
Footage showed people panicking and screaming. Inflatable water toys were shown being used as stretchers.
Some 190 people are seriously hurt - 182 are in intensive care.
Some of them breathed in the powder, causing respiratory problems.
The fire department said: "Our initial understanding is that explosion and fire... was caused by the powder spray. It could have been due to the heat of the lights on the stage".
Local media said organizers of the Color Play Asia event had been taken in for questioning by prosecutors.

Week two - The throat-cut of an elementary school girl (國小女童割喉案)
A 29-year-old man surnamed Kung (龔) was arrested on May 29, 2015 after an attack at an elementary school in Taipei in which an eight-year-old girl’s throat was cut.
Police said preliminary investigations suggest Kung entered the grounds of Wen-Hua Elementary School (文化國小) in Taipei’s Beitou District (北投) at about 4pm, before walking up four flights of stairs to the girls’ restroom, pulling out a knife when he saw the girl about to enter the restroom and allegedly slashing her twice across the throat.
The girl was found lying in a pool of blood and was rushed to hospital, while Kung remained at the scene and was detained by police.
An angry crowd gathered outside the police station and attempted to beat Kung as he stepped out of the police car. The police managed to hold back the crowd and took him into the station.
There was conflicting information about Kung’s supposed motive, with some sources saying that he was enraged after being unable to find work for four months, while others said that Kung was upset after being scolded by his mother and brother for not visiting his cancer-stricken father in hospital on Thursday.
Department of Education Commissioner Tang Chih-min (湯志民) said that because schools are “open” as a matter of policy, it is difficult to keep tabs on everyone entering school grounds.
However, he said that more could be done to improve schoolground security, including addressing security camera “blind spots.”

Week one - Apache helicopter scandal (阿帕契醜聞)
The 601st
Air Cavalry Brigade Lieutenant Colonel Nai-Cheng Lao (勞乃成) and two
other officers took a group of 26 relatives and friends, including a Japanese
man and five domestic caregivers who were foreign nationals, on a private tour
of a restricted-access base which houses Apache helicopters and other advanced
aircraft.
That
visit on March 29 led to a firestorm after one visitor, TV personality Janet
Lee (李蒨蓉),
posted photographs on Facebook that drew widespread public criticism.
Lee
was the first person to breach base security with a tour for his relatives and
friends on Feb. 20 this year, the report said, adding that Lao followed Lee’s
example.
The
investigation said that Lao was in charge of security and access to the base on
March 29, but violated registration requirements and other regulations in
permitting Lao’s group to bypass security checks.
The
Control Yuan report accused Lao of “wasting” the NT$40 million (US$1.28
million) the government spent to send him to the US for flight training.
“Lao
took the nation’s assets as his own private property. He used the Apache
helicopter as a social networking tool and took the helicopter helmet as a prop
for a private party. During the investigation, Lao continued to lie about his
actions and tried to cover them up. He has brought dishonor to the military,”
the report said.
The
Control Yuan has voted to impeach Lao and two other officers over security
breaches and rule violations in what came to be known as the “Apache helicopter
scandal” earlier this year.
